Clovertail Lore
Brief
There is a trait common among all peoples, that their imagination, creativity and thought can create a powerful energy that permeates our universe. This energy takes many forms, and there are beings, ancient and wise who may use this energy, to mold like clay this energy, crafting it into new beings. This is the story of the Clovertails. Crafted with the dreams and spark of humanity, to bring with them luck to those in need of it. Crafted in the claws of an ancient Dragon of Luck, who created an island, a sanctuary for her creations until they could find their calling in the companionship of their Luck Mate.

Creation
The Luck Dragon, which the others have nicknamed Viva, is attuned with the energies that flow through the universe as if they were water. Her nature is of luck, and so she could feel the scales tip against the kind and compassionate, as beings much like her bring misfortune and suffering to the mortal plane. To combat this, she created the first Clovertails, by gathering the attuned energies about her, sensing the energies fused with luck. She could sense the dreams and imagination behind such energies, and so specifically picked them, and used her power to turn this tide into water. She took this, created a rain over the ocean, from which a vast island grew. Then, she took the water, and mixed it with a pinch of her fur. This she sprinkled onto the island, and from it beautiful and colorful patches of clovers grew all across the land. Finally, she drew the water that remained and into it allowed one of her tears to fall into the mix. In that tear was the spark of her essence which would give the energies a piece of her spirit. She delicately allowed the water to soak into the island. And merely a few days later, the Clovertails were born, growing like buds from the clovers before they grow enough to stand. This is how they were made, and therefore why their ‘blood’ is of their specified energy and theme. |
Purpose
Every Clovertail knows on instinct what their purpose is. And as people began to visit the Island it would become clear. Should they be kind and in need of luck, people were drawn to the island with an unexplainable pull that they couldn’t avoid forever. And upon arriving at the island, they would find their Luck Mate. A Clovertail in harmonization with the humanoid, a sort of Soul Mate. The Clovertail would leave the island with their Luck Mate, and act as a good luck charm and companion. A muse to assist their Mate with their dreams and passions, offering that little nudge of luck to allow them to reach those dreams. This is why Clovertails are typically associated with (obviously) four+ leaf clovers, rainbows, horseshoes, and everything else that is said to bring luck to those who obtain it. Because of this, they are quite the colorful creatures!
The Island
Knowing that luck can be a dangerous thing if not kept in a mindful check, the Dragon of Luck created a wind around the Island, that no Clovertail could pass through without their Mate. Should they try, the energy that keeps them together shall separate, and the Clovertail’s form would melt, until they are once more formless energy. They can reform on the Island, hopefully with a little more patience.
Being creatures of magic and energy, it is possible for some to use this magic to pass through the winds, reaching the outside world with their forms intact. Such occurrences are rare however. If this happens, it is the duty of the Saints to recover them.
Saints
The Saints are the wisest and most distinguished of Clovertail’s notable for the halos that appear around their heads. These halos appear, when a Clovertail has helped many a Mate with their luck and proven themselves as kind and selfless. The act as guides and mentors for other Clovertails who may struggle with helping their Luck Mate. As stated above, it is also their duty to challenge those who would use their luck or magic for ill. And to retrieve them should they leave the Island without a Mate.
That being said, it is also possible for a Clovertail with 3 or less leaves to have a halo - their neutral/bad luck is just amplified. They had reached sainthood in their past lives, but got reincarnated as punishment with less leaves for a bad deed. Unlucky St. Clovertails may still leave the island, but are often feared by people for being reckless, or ignored all together.
Mischievous Ones
Not every Clovertail is exemplar. Some of the energy that was sprinkled into the island was touched by bad dreams, or more base desires. Clovertails that grew out of patches such as these can be more self obsessed and often act more as trickster with their luck. They are not born with malice in their hearts, and can change through time or guidance. Unfortunately sometimes they may make their companion unlucky even without meaning to. While some do this on purpose, spreading bad luck where they go, acting as anti muses.
3 or Less
If a Clovertail has 3 or less clover leaves on their tails, they are not considered lucky; this can be because of the clover they were grown from. However, they still have magic, and can still improve the world through their actions if they try hard enough. These Clovertails are still allowed to leave the island to find a Luck Mate, but are warned to be very careful.

Diversity
No two Clovertails are alike, appearing in forms of every color, with many shapes and traits unique to them. This is again due to the energies that they were formed from naturally. As dreams and ideas are shaped by their maker, the energy has a form and several traits unique to that person. And this will be reflected in the Clovertail. These traits will connect them to their Luck Mate, as a sync is made between them, and they will match a humanoid that has a similar energy to the kind they were born from. There are also Clovertails who's spirits still form naturally, but cannot focus their energy to create a living vessel -- for one reason or another -- and need a bit of assistance finding a body. This is where the Magic Made Clovertails come in! For example, robotic Clovertails' bodies are created by a friend of Lady Luck, Captain Sprocket. She is an expert in robotics and future technology, making her the perfect alien for the job. Prisma takes notice of weak energies attempting to form a vessel on the island, and sends a signal to Sprocket, who takes the orders and teleports the animatronics or elemental Clovertails to Cobalt Cove's center. Another vessel that's created by an outside source are the plush Clovertails, created by a witch named Lillian and her look-alike Clovertail. They are sewn with love, care, and magic -- just like the other Magic Made Clovertails, Prisma gives instruction for look and form, then they are teleported to the island. |
The Blooming Grounds
As stated, Clovertails sprout from flower-like clovers as tiny, tiny little puppies (around 2"), but they grow rapidly! Their incubation period inside of a a bud is called Blooming; the parents, Prisma, or Lady Luck watch over them as they grow. Most of the time, the energy flowing through the small plant makes the pup visible inside, curled up much like a fetus. They Bloom whenever they are ready, and all grow at different paces in The Blooming Grounds.

Lifespan
The Clovertails were created with purpose in mind. The length of their lives are directly tied to this purpose. If a Clovertail remains on the island, unable to find a Luck Mate, then they will age, but never die. When a Clovertail does find their Luck Mate, their life will last as long as the Mate needs their luck. This can be days or years, but when the balance of their luck has shifted, their lives made better, the Clovertail will slowly fade, melting back into the energies with which they were formed. From there, the same energy will undergo the process which created them, and the Clovertail will be reborn on the island to wait for a new mate.
The Saints exist outside of this cycle of reincarnation. A Saint, is a Clovertail who has found success and meaningful bonds with their mates several times. At which point, when they are reborn on the island, they retain their memories, and will never change in form again. Their sainthood is a symbol of their success in their purpose, and they will then exist to guide the younger Clovertails to their Mates.
The Location of the Island
When creating the island, the goddess knew that it was not only humanoids who needed this change in the scales of luck. That there were many worlds throughout existence which needed her creation. To this end, the storm that surrounds the island serves a dual purpose. The first is to prevent Clovertails from leaving without a mate. The second, and more incredible purpose is to displace the Island in a fog of dimension. The goddess manipulated the energies at her disposal, as well as her understanding of quantum mechanics, to ensure that all could reach the Island. And so, on every world, there is a similar storm. When one passes through it, they will find they’ve been transported to the Island, regardless of where they came from. In this way, the Island exists on every world at once, and is welcome to all.
Fun Facts
Prisma was appointed the Arch Saint below the Luck Dragon. Their job is to assign halos to those who earn it and keep everyone out of trouble.
On or off the Island, each and every Clovertail can drag their tail against the ground to cause clovers to grow. This is the ultimate proof of the species.
Their necks can extend; a Clovertail head-to-toe can appear up to 10’ tall! Though they have little use for this ability other than diet.
Speaking of, the island is covered in vaporwave mist and blue/pink/purple neon plants; this is their main diet along with light blue water and food made by the locals.
The character owners get to choose the Luck Mates, no matter the clover count.
Clovertails can be "reincarnated" ! (It is a paid-for redesign that enables a complete overhaul of a Clovertail's ID#-- that being said all redesigns must be approved by Witchin ! This is only available for MYO Slots. Designs made by Guest Artists or myself cannot be reincarnated unless we give approval to do so! )
